Kiah Room News June 2017

The Kiah children have been doing lots of indoor activities on cold days, such as drawing and painting, doll play, musical instruments, dancing, singing and rhymes, construction and indoor obstacle courses. Our emergent curriculum has been focusing on our daily routines and activities and promoting self help and independence. It is really wonderful to see just how capable the children are becoming within their individual ages and stages. Educator supported self feeding, locating own possessions, helping to pack up toys and sort washing are all experiences that can be supported in the home environment to promote a strong sense of agency and confidence.

Our routines are back to normal after our changeroom renovation. The changeroom looks awesome and has plenty of lockers. We have added some greenery to add a homely feel, and it is certainly great to use it again.

We also have our garden back, which we are thrilled about! Even though it is winter, we often enjoy braving the elements and playing in the fresh air.

From the Kiah educators, Lisa, Tanika, Mel, Jo and Brenda.
